The Union Wellness Center Crystal Lake location serves the members and families of SMART Local 265, Plumbers Local 130, Iron Workers Local 63, Riggers Local 136, Cement Masons Local 502 and Electricians Locals 701 and 176.

Alecia Grounds

Alecia Grounds, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Alecia Grounds graduated summacum laude with her bachelor of science in health science from Carroll University in 2009 and obtained her doctorate in physical therapy from Carroll University in 2011. Her interest in treating injured patients first started in high school when she volunteered as a student athletic trainer. She is also interested in treating athletes. She has a certification in Nike Golf 360 and is a Pose Running Specialist.

Alecia has been working in outpatient orthopedics for the past 10 years treating a variety of orthopedic injuries. She is certified in dry needling, the Graston Technique, and specializes in manual therapy techniques. Alecia was born and raised in Illinois and currently lives in Huntley with her husband and 3 girls. During her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her family, biking, rollerblading, and being outside.

Emily Woodruff

Emily Woodruff, MA

Medical Assistant

Emily Woodruff has been a medical assistant for 4 years and has 5 years of experience in the medical field. She obtained her CCMA at First Institute in Crystal Lake. She feels that caring for our patients is not just physical, it involves emotional, mental, and spiritual care as well. She views her role as an advocate for patients and helping them navigate the health system. The patients’ health and well-being are her priority.

Emily has several close friends who are union members, and she understands the hard work they do each day, and appreciates the importance of the unions to her friends. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking with her dog, Blue, and kayaking.

Nicole East

Nicole East, RN, BSN, NP

Nurse Practitioner

Nicole East started her career with a diploma from Ravenswood Hospital School of Nursing, then went on to finish her bachelor of science at Purdue University Northwest and completed her master of science in nursing at Lewis University. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, and dermatology. Nicole has a passion for healthcare promotion and believes in individualized, patient-focused care. She is positive, compassionate and comes from a long line of healthcare professionals.

Nicole is a Chicagoan who grew up around the trades. Her husband is a lieutenant with a local union fire department and a member of the AFFI and IAFF, and her father is an active member of Cement Masons’ Local 502 and Carpenters Union Local 58. She has 4 children who all play hockey, and as a family, they enjoy the outdoors, hiking with their 3 dogs, and spending time at the ice rink.

Logan Trento

Logan Trento, BSHCL, MHA

Operations Specialist

Logan Trento received his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in healthcare administration from Valparaiso University. During his undergraduate and graduate studies at Valpo, Logan held an on-campus job as a building manager. As a building manager, Logan oversaw the daily logistical, technical, and operational functionalities of the 202,000 sq. ft. student union center on campus that provided services to 5,000+ students, faculty, and customers. During graduate school, Logan was offered an internship with Porter Regional Hospital where he worked until he completed his degree.

Logan was born and raised in Mokena, IL and still resides there to this day. In his free time, Logan enjoys playing in softball leagues, hanging out with friends, and watching sports, especially football.
